I ♥ Faces: Texture

This week's theme is Texture. My texture this week can be found behind my son. It is a blanket lovingly crocheted by his great grandmother before her hands no longer let her do what she loved. The blanket's texture is a symbol of the intertwined love of our family and how that love can exist long before the next generation does.

My grandmother's love for our family is a texture in itself because she is part of the thread that holds us all together. She adopted my mother and uncle after their biological mother died. She lost her husband shortly after. The orphanage offered to take the kids back due to her financial situation. But she kept them and did everything to scrape by and give them everything they never had. We all are eternally grateful for her generosity.

Happy Birthday, I ♥ Faces !

This week at I ♥ Faces the theme is "Best Face Photo."

I chose one of my new favorites. I took this photo on January 6, 2010. I love to take photos of my son. I usually catch him when he is smiling or having fun. I actually caught him at one of his tired moments and it is absolutely beautiful.
